Are you eligible for the Grant+?

You must meet all these criteria in order to be eligible for a Grant+.


You must be between ages 18 and 35.


You must have de facto control of the company. You and other eligible candidates must own at least 50% of voting shares.


You must dedicate 100% of your time to your business project.


You must reside in Greater Montréal, and your head office must be located on the Island of Montréal or in the South Shore.

Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or hold the Québec selection certificate


You must be market-ready in the short term, or have started sales recently. If no sales have been made, you may present a product, a proof of prototype, a validated service, or the result of your MVP.

Which applications are excluded?

  • Non-profit projects
  • Projects rejected in the past
  • Projects of a sexual, religious or political nature
  • Projects related to illegal or recreational drugs (projects related to therapeutic drugs are considered)
  • Bar projects
  • Student projects: internships and university projects
  • Research and development projects
  • Self-employed workers
  • Projects for which the main value-added activities are outside the territory covered by Mtl inc.

Which documents should I submit?

All these documents must be completed and attached to your application.

  • A business plan
  • Financial summary
  • Financial statements
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Financial balance sheet

Phase 1

Preselection of applications by the Montreal advisors’ team inc. Applications may be:


1) Selected
2) Postponed
3) Refused


(3 – 4 weeks) 

Phase 2

Evaluation interviews of entrepreneurs by Montréal inc.’s business volunteers.


(3 – 4 weeks)

Phase 3

Final decision by the Grant committee. Entrepreneurs can become:


1) Laureates (with Grant and support for life)
2) Promoters (with a 12-month access to Desjardins Zone services)
